My name is Charles Rice, I am a fine artist whose original concepts and styles represent the diversity and uniqueness of today’s urbanesque market. My vision is to paint the world as I see it and at any early age, I developed my talent drawing on everything from walls to cars. As a result, I won numerous awards locally and nationally for my contemporary urban paintings and illustrations. I received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Kentucky. My unique style and contemporary style opened up the opportunity for me to be one of a few undergrad fine arts students to have solo art exhibitions during their collegiate years.
After college, I returned to Louisville, Kentucky where I worked as an artist and associate of E&S Galleries, one of the prestigious African American Art Galleries in the country. I eventually moved to Orlando Florida where I worked at Walt Disney World before returning back to Louisville to pursue my vision in hip-hop/urban art. I specialize in fine and two-dimensional arts. My works mostly consist of chalk pastels on suede boards and acrylic on canvas. During my tenure at E&S Galleries, I also studied the intricate art of picture framing and began to incorporate framing with my unique style. Ultimately, this allowed me to have complete control over the presentation of my work. Original pieces include Waiting on my wings and First Sight.
